Privacy Policy
Effective July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AthleteIQ (“AthleteIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and sports-operations platform (the “Service”). AthleteIQ is based in California, United States. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Who the Service is for.AthleteIQ is intended for sports organizations, clubs, coaches/directors, and parents/guardians to manage teams, rosters, schedules, communication, and dues records. It is not directed to children under 13 for self-registration — see “Children’s Privacy” below.
Information We Collect
- Account information you provide when you sign up: name, email, password, and role (director/coach or player), and — for directors — your club or program name.
- Roster and program information that directors/coaches enter about their teams, which may include information about minors: names, jersey numbers/sizes, positions, age groups, contact emails, and performance stats.
- Dues records. AthleteIQ is a ledger — we record what a player owes and what a family reports paying. We do not process, collect, or transmit dues payments.
- Payment information for AthleteIQ subscriptions is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
- Communications you send us (e.g., contact or support messages) and content you choose to log (habits, game stats).
- Usage and device data collected automatically to operate and secure the Service (e.g., log data, approximate location from IP, and essential cookies used for sign-in sessions).
How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To send transactional and team communications (invites, announcements, event and dues reminders, receipts) — you can manage which emails you receive via the link in each message.
- To process AthleteIQ subscriptions and prevent fraud/abuse.
- To respond to your inquiries and provide support.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do notsell your personal information, and we do not use children’s information for behavioral advertising.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run the Service, with vendors who process it on our behalf under confidentiality obligations:
- Supabase (database & authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare(DNS & security).
- Stripe (subscription billing), Resend (email delivery), and Twilio (text messages, where enabled).
- Anthropic(AI features, only where enabled) — an athlete’s own logged data may be sent to generate personalized feedback.
- To comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
We take children’s privacy seriously and design the Service to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).
- No self-registration under 13.Children under 13 may not create their own AthleteIQ accounts. A parent or guardian (or the child’s club, with parental involvement) manages a young athlete’s information.
- Parental consent.Where a club adds a minor and invites the family, the parent/guardian receives the invite and, by accepting and using the Service, provides consent to our collection and use of that child’s information as described here.
- Data minimization. We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide team-management features, and we never condition a child’s participation on providing more than is necessary.
- No behavioral advertisingis directed to children, and we do not sell children’s personal information.
- Parental rights.Parents/guardians may review their child’s information, request corrections or deletion, and refuse further collection by contacting us at privacy@athleteiqapp.com.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and row-level access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information.
- Opt out of non-essential emails using the “manage preferences” link in any message.
- Request that we delete your (or your child’s) personal information by emailing privacy@athleteiqapp.com.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) to know, access, and delete your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@athleteiqapp.com.
